Sneak Peek: Fantastic Narrative

As you know, we are in the middle of preparing for the opening of 'Fantastic Narrative' around here at Brumfield's Gallery.  The event will take place on Saturday from 7 - 9 p.m. here at the gallery.

We thought you'd like a little sneak peek at some of the works currently going up on the walls…

Joseph Cowman, a local artist, delivered the four pieces he'll have in the show.  They're all from the same series focusing on the four elements.  You can find him on our inventory here.

Gallery Updates

With some new arrivals coming in last week, we thought you'd like to see some of the new additions recently added to the gift gallery…

We received ceramics from Lollipop Pottery, located out of Ohio.  The pieces range from mugs, shot glasses, plates, bowls, and tumblers.  Each porcelain piece is thrown by Tyson Geib and later decorated by his wife Jessica with decals inspired by her original pen and ink drawings.

The four 'themes' we have here at the gallery are monsters, skunks, birds, and skulls - so you can pick from whatever category suits you best!

The other shipment of goodies we received came from Uncle Goose, located in Michigan.  This unique little company specializes in wooden blocks with a modern twist.  Uncle Goose strives to combine old-fashioned techniques with contemporary aesthetics to make simple, creative toys for a increasingly technological age.

Stack and Scare Set #1, $48

The very last update we have today is a preview of our invite for the next exhibition here at the gallery. 'Fantastic Narrative' opens Saturday, April 12 and will feature pieces from Bill Carman, Gary McCauley, Kyla Zoe Rafert, and Joseph Cowman.  The idea behind this group show lies in the personal sense of fantasy each of these four artists explores in his or her work.

Shannon Richardson's show opens tonight!

As promised, we've posted some preview photos of Shannon Richardson's show opening tonight!

The event takes place here at the gallery from 7 - 9 p.m.  Richardson will also be attending, so be sure to stop by and meet her!

We thought we'd post some updates happening at the gallery as of late…

This week saw two arrivals of some toys to our Gift Gallery.  We got the little monsters from Mr. Sog's Creatures.  You can find them on our website here.

We also received some pieces from Snooter-Doots, which are on our website here.  These little guys, of which we have the animal friends and puppets, are all made from felted wool.

We also have an opening this week for Shannon Richardson.  Shannon will also be traveling from California to attend the event and chat about her work.  The event takes place here at the gallery from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 8.  You can find all of her work and more information about her on our website.

Ray Maseman will be the featured printmaker for the show as well.  You can find his prints and more information on our website here.
