Recycled Mysticism: Paintings by Ego
This past weekend we had the show opening for our latest exhibiting artist, Ego. The show is titled "Recycled Mysticism," and, if you missed the opening, we thought you might like to see some installation shots.
'No Glory' - Soon to be featured in a local tattoo shop!
'The Illusionist'
If you'd like to see individual images of each piece (and snag a painting for yourself!), you can find all of Ego's work at the gallery on our website. Don't forget, if you're interested in a particular piece, each inventory item has an option to inquire directly to the gallery.
Ego's exhibition will run until Sunday, August 25th, so drop by to see it in person! As always, we are open 10 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and 12 pm - 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday. See you soon!

Corinna Button Exhibition Opening
Tomorrow night is the opening for newest exhibition from Corinna Button.
Originally from England, Button has recently moved to Chicago, allowing Brumfield's Gallery to host, for the first time, a solo show featuring her large-scale work.
The show will include the two series of works that Button is currently working on. The first, titled "Idols" features large portraits of female figures in composed, indifferent, and isolated states of being. The figures are meant to represent the fascination with, and inaccessibility to, our culture's revered pop icons.
The second series explores a theme that Button has long been inspired by. Set in groups of three or more, Button depicts women in scenes of social interaction and various relationships. Button has long been interested in the way these cliques portray the nature of secrets, thoughts, and intimacy between individuals in a group setting.
As always, Button works in an artistic style that has become all her own. The artist employs several methods, using layers upon layers of medium and technique to achieve rich and textured artworks. The results are unusual blends of printmaking, painting, collage, and other techniques that give Button's work its signature look.

Last Two Weeks of Bill Carman's Show
Although we will be retaining a number of works by Bill from this show there are only two more weeks to see this show in its entirety. He has added a few sketches to the show. The smaller works sold quickly, so if you were hoping to pick up a small work, and got beaten to the punch one of these might be just the ticket.
